The Working Wonders Program Returns!
The Working Wonders program provides the youth of Westerly career exploration opportunities! Funded by a grant from the RI Dept of labor and training, the Ocean Community Chamber of Commerce and Westerly Public schools are providing this unique program to expose students to different career options found in the state of RI. Offered to students in grades 4 through 8, students will learn about careers in hospitality and tourism, health sciences, agricultural and environmental, manufacturing as well as construction and landscaping. This time, State Street was greeted by guests in the agricultural and environmental fields. Listen as the students learn about the RIDEM and their local offerings, a zoologist working with the Audubon Society of RI as well as a local oyster farmer. The unifying theme among all three presenters was pursuing something you are interested in, a great message for these young students as they look towards middle school and beyond. In case you missed it, the Working Wonders program has been to State Street before! Check out this past episode of the FinCast. FinCast - S4Ep13 - Working Wonders pt2
